• Color

Longshadow is hand made using limestone, sand and cement.
Natural variations in the color of limestone cause slight variations in
the color of Longshadow products. The natural pearl white color of
Longshadow, LS 0009, complements buff Bedford Indiana limestone.

The photograph to the right has a Munstead 19 Planter, LS 9042, with
a natural mossy patina that developed after an application of spoiled
milk. On its right, the Chesapeake 24 Planter, LS 9106, shows the
natural pearl color, LS 0009, of a newly cast planter.

• Patinas

A patina of green, tan and gray mosses, molds
and lichens will develop over time in humid areas.

The photograph on the left shows a
Lake Bluff 32 Planter, LS 9044, that has been growing
Japanese Painted Ferns, Astilbees and native Ferns in a
woodland setting since 1994. The sides of the planter
are green with moss.

The photograph to the right shows the patina of natural
aging that has developed in a dry, sunny location.

• Washes

The natural pearl color of Longshadow is beautiful.
Allowing it to weather naturally is best. Nevertheless, we
have developed an assortment of washes for projects where
an immediate effect of aging is required. This photograph from left to right:
